Lifetime Achievement Award to Senior Cartoonist L. N. R

Bengaluru:  The Karnataka Cartoonists’ Association will honour veteran cartoonist L. N. Rao with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution and achievements in the field of cartooning.  The award ceremony will be held on Saturday, 05 September, at 11:00 a.m. The programme is being organised with the support of the Indian Institute of Cartoonists. About the Awardee Lakshminarayana Rao M. (L. N. Rao) hails from Kuntaru in Kasaragod district. He studied law in Udupi and is a bank employee by profession. However, inspired by cartoonists Nadig and K. R. Swamy, he took up cartooning. His very first cartoon was published in the magazine Mayura in 1980. He has received several awards and honours, including the state-level award from the magazine “Nage Mugulu” and an Hindustan Times Award, besides several other prizes and recognitions. L. N. Ashok Mansur: A Messmerisingly Amazing Photographer

Dharwad:  Balaveer Prasad Shettar, our grandson in relationship, and a budding architect drove me on his Bullet to the beautiful houses premises of Ashok Mansur, an accomplished photographer in the Saraswatpur residential area. We had to keep waiting for Ashok to handle the bunch of canines, to ensure that they didn't hurt us. Like a resort in a jungle:  After Ashok ensured our safe entry, we entered the sprawling lush green landscape with huge tall trees enabling us an experience of being in a picturesque luxury resort amidst a forest terrain. The pathway all along was like moving around in a botanical garden full of a variety of interesting plants with blooming flowers.
