BJP springs surprise in Karnataka and Telangana while draws blank in AP, TN and Kerala

T he Bharatiya Janata Party has written new history in Karnataka , considered as the Gateway to South India by snatching 25 out of 28 Lok Sabha constituencies and managing to win from four seats in Telangana. However it has failed to register any win in either of the remaining South Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Probably the biggest surprise for the saffron party today turned out to be Karnataka which bagged literally the whole state barring a mere two constituencies, one each to the Congress and JDS. The third seat was won by an Independent but supported by the BJP.Another noteworthy feature of today's results happened to be the total rout of veteran politicians and emergence of novices transforming out as new heroes on the political arena. HD Devegowda, former prime minister and Janata Dal Secular party supremo, Mallikarjun Kharge, leader of the Congress party group in the Lok Sabha, M Veerappa Moily, former chief minister and central minister, KH

Karnataka BJP carves new history in electoral politics

image source : indiatoday.in T he spectacular success of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the May 2019 Parliamentary elections in Karnataka is a new history in the electoral politics of the state . According to the reports till late afternoon the saffron party has registered a win or is on the way to victory in 24 constituencies leaving two to the Congress, one to the JDS and another one to an Independent supported by it. The poll results have baffled not just the pre poll and exit poll strategists but all political onlookers including the party men and leaders themselves! Almost all exit polls predicted a rise in the tally of the saffron party while they differed in the score of the alliance partners and appeared more confusing with regard to Mandya. But contrary to all such speculations the people of the state have resolved to vote en masse. for the Bharatiya Janata Party if you were to take into cognisance the huge number of seats the party has won. Never ever before

Thanks to exit polls, BJP bashers at the receiving end!

T he outcome of multiple exit polls have proved the Bharatiya Janata Party bashers otherwise as almost all exit poll surveys have projected the return of a National Democratic Alliance(NDA) government at the centre much to the heartburn of Congress and several other parties under multiple banners! image source: indiatoday.in The projection has also come at a time when the situation in the saffron camp, by and large, looked like dull and devoid of any mood to rejoice. Interestingly, if at all most of these surveys were to come true as made public it would go into the annals of history as a landmark verdict as the BJP has never won a second tenure continuously so far. But a notable characteristic which demands mention about the current mandate is the U-turn of many of the pollsters much before the actual polls. Most of the surveys had almost written off the BJP from the main Hindi belt comprising of the cow belt. But the revelations if also realising into reality have altoge

Janata Dal Secular party geared up to spring surprise in three constituencies

T he ruling Janata Dal Secular party much contrary to the general public perception is said to be making all out last ditch efforts to register a win in Mandya,Tumakuru and Hassan Lok Sabha constituencies if not the remaining other three constituencies having party candidates. Image source: kannada.oneindia.com There are several reasons being put forth by the party bigwigs for anticipating such big surprise outcome quite contrary to the perceived notions being projected so for on local private TV channels and the social media. A couple of TV channels have also aired the survey 'findings' about these three key constituencies which have suddenly become a cynosure to all political onlookers not in the host state alone but elsewhere across the country and abroad as well. While one channel which also holds the dubious distinction of being 'bought' over by the ruling party proclaimed that Nikhil Kumaraswamy, actor son of HD Kumaraswamy,Chief Minister will win by a hu

Image Source: indianexpress.com Both the JDS and INC have been traditional rivals from several decades before they clinched a deal after 2004 general elections to form a Congress led JDS supported government in the state.Interestingly the grand alliance of sharing power was toppled by none other than HD Kumaraswamy, present Chief Minister to form a JDS-BJP government in order to become the chief minister. Although the new power sharing arrangement came into being with an understanding of enjoying the helms of affairs on a 20:20 months formula, HD Devegowda, national JDS president reportedly threatened his son of consuming poison

DNA statement paves way for debate on 'dynastic politics'

Post polls Janata Dal Secular party faces the threat of decimation

T he ruling Janata Dal Secular regional party is facing a grave threat of being decimated from the state electoral politics after 23 May,the counting date of the ensuing Lok Sabha general elections if at all the pre poll survey reports of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies projecting the humiliating rout of state outfit were to come true. Most of these poll projections undertaken by several private agencies have hinted at diverse results but most of them concurring at the literal wash out of the proclaimed peasants party from the electoral scene.A survey report claimed to be on the findings of the state Intelligence Department was doing rounds on the social networking sites since a few days mentioning that the Janata Dal Secular party will have to be content with only Hassan Lok Sabha constituency. T he panic buttons within the alliance partners in the state appear to have been switched on their own if you were to lend your ears to the angry outbursts of the Janata Dal Secular and Congress party leaders at public meetings across the state. Thanks to the cheering crowd of youths raising slogans like Modi...Modi... wherever the JDS-Congress leaders go it's becoming very difficult for the latter to relish, forget digest the slogans showering heap of praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. image source:ndtv.com HD Kumaraswamy,Chief Minister became annoyed and perplexed during his visit to South Canara, the coastal district where he was greeted with chants like Modi...Modi.. by the local youth. It may be recalled here that the entire coastal belt comprising of South Canara,Udupi and North Canara districts by and large are typical saffron bastions ever since early eighties. So it was but for natural for the chief minister in not relishing the sloganeering praising the
