Leave It to the Universe...It Will Deliver Retribution in Time

*By Dr. Devan

Human beings often carry a misplaced burden—the need to correct every wrong, confront every injustice, and retaliate against every hurt. When someone betrays us, humiliates us, cheats us, or harms us, the instinctive impulse is to respond instantly. The mind screams, “Do something! Show them! Prove them wrong!” But life, in its profound wisdom, teaches a different lesson: the greatest justice is unforced, the deepest retribution is unprovoked, and the most powerful response is no response at all.

This is where the timeless principle emerges:

Leave it to the universe… it will deliver retribution in time.

Not during your anger, not during your pain, not during your emotional peak—

but at the exact moment it must, with a precision no human intervention can match.

The Universe Has a Memory

Every action we take—pure or polluted—reverberates through the fabric of existence. No deed is ever lost. No thought is ever forgotten. Nothing we do dissolves into nothingness. Instead, the universe stores every vibration and returns it to the source when the time is right.

You may not see it happen immediately.

You may not be present when it happens.

You may have even forgotten the event.

But the cosmic ledger does not.

This is not superstition. This is not mysticism. This is the physics of nature, the law of cause and effect, the rhythm of consequences. Some call it karma. Some call it divine justice. Some call it moral balance. But the name does not matter. What matters is this fundamental truth:

What you send out will one day return to you—with interest.

For the good, the return is a blessing.

For the unjust, the return is retribution.

And you, the one who was wronged, need not lift a finger.

The Weight You Don’t Need to Carry

When we attempt to fight every injustice inflicted on us, we drink a poison disguised as power. Anger, resentment, and revenge eat the mind from within. They sap our energy, distract our thoughts, and cloud our judgment. We think we are punishing the wrongdoer, but in truth, we are punishing ourselves.

The universe whispers gently:

“Put it down. I will handle it.”

Why? Because the moment you stop trying to play cosmic policeman, life begins to unfold with a clarity you’ve never known. Your mind becomes lighter, your heart freer, your energy stronger. This is not weakness. It is wisdom. Retribution is not your job. Living well is your job.

The universe does not want you entangled in bitterness.

It wants you aligned with growth.

It wants you moving forward, not stuck fighting shadows from your past.

Retribution Is Precise, Not Immediate

People often mistake silence for injustice.

They think lack of immediate punishment means someone “escaped.”

But the universe operates on a timeline far larger and wiser than ours.

Retribution is never early, never late.

It arrives exactly when the lesson will be most transformative.

Sometimes the universe delays justice because the person needs to walk a certain path, reach a certain height, or experience a certain illusion before their fall can truly shake their soul awake.

Sometimes retribution is not public, not obvious, not dramatic.

It may be internal—a restless mind, a broken peace, a disintegration of relationships, a loss of direction, or an emptiness no wealth or status can fill.

Everyone pays.

But everyone pays in the currency the universe chooses, not the one you imagine.

Your Silence Is Not Your Weakness—It Is Your Power

One of the most misunderstood concepts is silence. People think silence means defeat.

But in reality:

Silence is self-control.

Silence is strategic withdrawal.

Silence is strength under discipline.

Silence is trusting a larger intelligence than your own.

When you do not retaliate, you are not surrendering. You are rising. You are refusing to descend to their level. You are choosing dignity over combat, peace over drama, clarity over chaos.

And that choice magnifies you.

While they burn their energy plotting, gossiping, manipulating, or harming, you preserve yours.

And preserved energy becomes power.

The Universe Notices What You Don’t Say

Many people believe justice requires action. But the universe watches something deeper: your intention, your restraint, your refusal to retaliate.

When you decide, “I will not harm them, even though they harmed me,” the universe elevates you.

When you choose, “I will focus on my growth, not their downfall,” the universe rewards you.

When you say, “I will let time do its work,” the universe aligns people, events, and circumstances in your favor.

This is why people who hold no malice always rise.

And those who operate in cunning eventually fall.

Retribution Is Often Disguised as Self-Destruction

Sometimes you don’t need to watch the wrongdoer’s downfall.

You will see it in their eyes.

Look closely at people who repeatedly harm others:

You will find restlessness, paranoia, insecurity, and a mind that knows no peace.

They fear being exposed. They fear retaliation. They fear karma. They fear themselves.

The universe has already begun its work.

Destruction often begins from the inside.

People who break others eventually break themselves.

Not because you curse them, but because their own actions rebound onto them.

The universe simply returns what they emitted.

The Biggest Retribution Is Realization

Sometimes the universe’s justice is not punishment—it is reflection.

Imagine someone who manipulated, lied, betrayed, or hurt you.

And suddenly, years later, they reach a point in life where:

the people around them treat them the way they treated you

someone betrays them in exactly the manner they betrayed you

they lose what they took for granted

they experience the loneliness they once inflicted

they feel the pain they once caused

This moment of realization is the universe’s most poetic justice.

It delivers understanding, humility, and accountability—far deeper than any external punishment.

Retribution is not always vengeance.

Often, it is awakening.

Protect Your Mind. The Universe Will Protect Your Justice.

You may not be able to control people’s actions.

You cannot prevent betrayal.

You cannot stop lies or cruelty.

You cannot make people be good.

You cannot enforce kindness.

But you can control your response.

You can protect your peace.

You can remove yourself from toxic cycles.

You can choose not to engage in revenge.

By doing so, you hand the situation over to a higher intelligence.

You say:

“I trust that the universe sees what I cannot,

knows what I do not,

and will do what I need not.”

This is not resignation.

It is empowerment.

Your Rise Is the Universe’s Message

Often, the greatest retribution delivered by the universe is not the fall of the wrongdoer—it is your rise.

When someone tries to break you and you grow stronger, that is retribution.

When someone underestimates you and life elevates you, that is retribution.

When someone mocks you and you succeed beyond their imagination, that is retribution.

When someone pushes you down and the universe pulls you up higher than ever before, that is retribution.

Nothing frustrates the unjust more than seeing you thrive.

Your success becomes the universe’s verdict.

Walk Away. The Universe Will Walk In.

The moment you walk away from unnecessary battles, the universe steps in with necessary justice.

Let life handle what your anger cannot.

Let time reveal what your arguments will not.

Let the cosmic balance unfold without your interference.

Say it with conviction:

Leave it to the universe…

it will deliver retribution in time.

And then focus on living a life so full, so rich, so peaceful, so powerful that no injustice can pull you down.

Your rise is coming.

Their consequences are coming.

And the universe never fails its timing.

Basavanna: Equality, Humanity and Human Rights

Bengaluru: Akshaya Trutiya is the birthday of Lord Basaveshwara or Basavanna, the 12th-century revolutionary poet and religious reformer who rebelled against all blind beliefs, practices and rituals of Hinduism. It also goes to his credit of bringing God to one’s palms while simultaneously and vehemently opposing the tradition of visiting temples and places of pilgrimages in search of the almighty. Interestingly, unfortunately, or sadly what his followers or disciples have been doing all along would be another separate topic for discussion and better to forget for the time being. A Hindu Protestant: Dr Godwin Shiri, former Director of Christian Institute For The Study Of Religion And Society (CISRS), Bengaluru, during an informal interaction, opined-“Basavanna can be aptly described as a Hindu Protestant as he was in the forefront of opposing blind beliefs”. Influenced by Buddha: Mallikarjun G Kelagade, former Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) kee...

Dharwad's Arya Durga, Rukmini and Saraswati...: From Nothing to Crores and Crores...

Bengaluru: Arya Durga Kirani Stores, with Rukmini and Saraswati outlets, are household names for all those residing in and natives of Dharwad. It was a humble and austere beginning, dating back a few decades, thanks to hard work, sincerity, and trustworthy behaviour with customers, the business flourished and grew in leaps and bounds in an unimaginable proportion. Started working at the age of eight years! The owner, late Gajanan Vitthal Shetti, was primarily from Ankola in the North Canara (Karwar) district. Ankola, a coastal town, is renowned for its Salt Satyagraha during the freedom struggle movement. The financial condition of Shetti's family was too critical, making it too difficult to meet even the basic demands of day-to-day life. He began working at a ration shop while he was only eight years of age and continued working until he became 15 years old. Mahalakshmi Hotel boomerangs: Then Gajanan Vitthal Shetti came to Hubballi to do business. He came with his father, Vitth...
