Philanthropy and Charity Are Divine Protectors That Will Protect You from Illness and Accidents

*By Dr Devan

There is a mysterious, divine law woven into the very fabric of existence — the law of giving. Those who understand and live by this law find that life itself bends gently in their favor. Health, longevity, peace, and protection seem to walk beside them as invisible guardians. Philanthropy and charity are not merely social virtues; they are divine shields — protectors that safeguard us from illness, misfortune, and accidents.

When a person gives with a pure heart, something profound happens within the mind and body. The act of giving generates immense positive energy — a vibration of compassion and gratitude that purifies the soul. This vibration has the power to heal, harmonize, and protect. It transforms the giver from within, aligning their consciousness with divine benevolence. Just as a tree grows stronger when it gives shade and fruit to others, a human being grows resilient and luminous through the spirit of giving.

Modern science has begun to glimpse what ancient wisdom has always known: that emotions like compassion and generosity can directly influence one’s physiology. Studies show that those who engage in altruistic acts have stronger immune systems, lower blood pressure, and reduced levels of stress hormones. The brain releases endorphins — natural painkillers — and oxytocin, the hormone of love and connection. In essence, the act of giving becomes a natural medicine that heals both giver and receiver.

Illness often takes root when the mind is burdened with selfishness, resentment, or greed. These dark emotions constrict the life force and weaken immunity. Charity opens the channels of love, dissolving ego and fear. A charitable heart radiates a magnetic aura that repels negativity, misfortune, and disease. This is not mere poetry — it is energetic truth. When you help others, you invoke divine grace upon yourself. That grace becomes a shield against the unforeseen blows of life — be it an accident, an illness, or a tragedy.

Philanthropy need not always be grand or public. Even a small gesture — feeding a hungry person, helping a student, caring for an animal, or comforting a distressed soul — has the same protective power if done with sincerity. The universe does not measure the size of your giving but the purity of your intention. Every act of kindness sends ripples into the divine field, and those ripples eventually return as blessings of health and safety.

There is a saying in ancient texts: “When you protect others, you are protected.” The philanthropist, by serving humanity, unconsciously earns divine insurance against calamity. His good deeds become invisible hands that steer him away from harm. There are countless stories of people who, after years of helping others selflessly, narrowly escaped fatal accidents or recovered miraculously from grave diseases. Such miracles are not coincidences — they are the fruits of stored virtue, the accumulated energy of compassion.

Philanthropy and charity are also powerful karmic purifiers. Every human carries a residue of past actions that shape destiny. Some of those actions manifest as illness or misfortune. By practicing charity, one burns away negative karma before it can manifest physically. It is like paying off a spiritual debt before the creditor arrives. Thus, the giver walks lighter, freer, and safer.

In times of personal hardship, the most effective remedy is to give — not to withdraw. When you feel weak, serve someone weaker. When you are in pain, alleviate another’s pain. When you feel poor, share what little you have. This act reverses the current of self-pity and invokes the flow of divine abundance. You become a conduit of grace, and grace, in turn, protects you.

True philanthropy is not an act of superiority but of unity. The giver and receiver are not two; they are one soul expressing itself in two forms. When this awareness dawns, giving becomes effortless, joyful, and sacred. The philanthropist no longer donates from his wealth — he donates from his heart. And that heart becomes a fortress, guarded by unseen divine forces.

In the end, life is not measured by possessions or power but by the love we have shared. Wealth fades, fame dies, and bodies age, but the fragrance of charity lingers eternally. Those who dedicate their lives to the welfare of others are protected not only in this life but beyond it. Their path is illuminated, their health preserved, and their soul uplifted.

Thus, remember this truth: philanthropy and charity are not mere moral duties — they are divine protectors. They are the invisible hands of God, guiding, healing, and shielding those who live for others. When you give, you do not lose; you are insured by divinity itself. Your heart becomes your temple, and your life becomes your blessing.

Basavanna: Equality, Humanity and Human Rights

Bengaluru: Akshaya Trutiya is the birthday of Lord Basaveshwara or Basavanna, the 12th-century revolutionary poet and religious reformer who rebelled against all blind beliefs, practices and rituals of Hinduism. It also goes to his credit of bringing God to one’s palms while simultaneously and vehemently opposing the tradition of visiting temples and places of pilgrimages in search of the almighty. Interestingly, unfortunately, or sadly what his followers or disciples have been doing all along would be another separate topic for discussion and better to forget for the time being. A Hindu Protestant: Dr Godwin Shiri, former Director of Christian Institute For The Study Of Religion And Society (CISRS), Bengaluru, during an informal interaction, opined-“Basavanna can be aptly described as a Hindu Protestant as he was in the forefront of opposing blind beliefs”. Influenced by Buddha: Mallikarjun G Kelagade, former Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) kee...

Bengaluru: Arya Durga Kirani Stores, with Rukmini and Saraswati outlets, are household names for all those residing in and natives of Dharwad. It was a humble and austere beginning, dating back a few decades, thanks to hard work, sincerity, and trustworthy behaviour with customers, the business flourished and grew in leaps and bounds in an unimaginable proportion. Ankola, a coastal town, is renowned for its Salt Satyagraha during the freedom struggle movement. The financial condition of Shetti's family was too critical, making it too difficult to meet even the basic demands of day-to-day life. He began working at a ration shop while he was only eight years of age and continued working until he became 15 years old. Mahalakshmi Hotel boomerangs: Then Gajanan Vitthal Shetti came to Hubballi to do business. He came with his father, Vitth...
