After health care, Dr Shaimaa ventures into the food industry

Dr Shaimaa

After health care, Dr Shaimaa ventures into the food industry Dr Shaimaa CEO of the Integro Hospital at the P & T Co-op Housing Society, Near Retibowli Petrol Pump on Tolichowki Main Road, Retibowli Hyderabad has now ventured into the food industry after a stint in the health care service. She continues to oversee and manage the hospital apart from launching the Shaso Food Fusion Park Continental Hotel at Humayun Nagar, Masab Tank Hyderabad.

Nutritious food to patients:
Dr Shaimaa, Proprietor of the Shaso Food Fusion informs-“The new restaurant launched just two months back has dual purposes of providing food to staff and patients along with other guests. As of now, the cuisine is more North Indian oriented but we intend to keep changing it every four months. However, the speciality of the restaurant is its novel practice of ensuring nutritious food on the recommendation of Nutritionist to the patients”.

Authentic Kebabs, Biryani: She also asserts-“We also have plans to gradually introduce a variety of delicacies from all over the country and worldwide as well. Presently, we also have a lot of foreign guests and we specialise in offering authentic Charcoal grilled Kebabs, unlike the usual Tandoori type. Likewise, even Biriyani is also prepared in the traditional manner”.

Personal care of patients:
Dr Shaimaa is married to Dr Faizullah Khan, Managing Director of the Integro Hospital. Dr Faizullah Khan is a Consultant Urologist, Laparoscopic and Transplant Surgeon. He did his Fellowship in LAP & Robotic from Heidelberg University, Germany and his Fellowship in ENDO, LAP and Renal Transplant from Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital Nadiad in Gujarat. Dr Shaimaa has done BDS, MDS (Oral Pathology), M Sc (Biotech) Advanced Diploma in Stem Cells and doesn’t practice. However, she forgets her position at the hospital and mixes up freely with the patients more so among the female patients deprived of family members to attend. This unusual gesture of hers goes beyond the usual formal treatment and has a close intimate feeling among the sick people.

M Sc in Biotech after first child:
For having background from a conservative family Dr Shaimaa had to face a series of adverse conditions all along. She completed BDS and got married. She had her first child after which she did M Sc in Biotech as a part-time course and later completed an advanced Diploma course in Stem Cell research. She even dreamt of doing a Ph D in Stem Cell research, but that was not to happen as the move required shifting from Hyderabad to Chennai and her family was not inclined to the proposal.

MDS after the second child:
After the second child and for being at home she even thought of venturing into a start-up for a cupcake brand from home. However, she was blessed with lady luck as her hubby insisted that she join the MDS in oral pathology. You can imagine what an MDS course means to a mother of two kids including a newborn one. This way, she spent three sleepless years apart from rushing to the college after feeding the infant child and came running in between again to feed the child. There is no need to mention her predicament entangled with a series of assignments at the college. But, there was no excuse or shortcut other than adhering to the challenging, tiring and perplexing schedule to get through the master's Degree.

Scientist without pay! Following completion of the degree, she gave a try for jobs at Hyderabad in vain as there were less numbers of choices. Yet, she had all the enthusiasm to give it a try for a possible career in research. She even went out of the way to plead with a scientist at the National Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), University of Hyderabad to work for free in his stem cell research laboratory. In this way, she was hired without salary and the assignment helped her to acquire some knowledge in the Regenerative Department. Interestingly, she got an opening during the lockdown at the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), for employment was available there for those who knew the procedures to conduct RT-PCR tests.

Contribution to the growth of the hospital: During the course of time she came across an opportunity to be associated with the Integro Hospital. Initially, she was a bit reluctant for having had no stint in a managerial capacity but that was no hindrance to taking up the new responsibility. However, she ensured of becoming another partner rather than joining as one more salaried person. Thanks to her involvement, and dedication with the team, the new hospital has grown in leaps and bounds within a very short period of time.

Integro Hospital

A flashback of Integro Hospital: Dr Shaimaa and Dr Faizullah Khan doctor couple’s selfless sacrificing service during the COVID-19 pandemic is worth recalling here and eventually the same paved way for the Integro Hospital. When the availability of beds had become a nightmare the doctor couple didn’t find solace in becoming a mute witness. Instead, in the first wave of 2020 they managed to get an empty building and built the Integro Hospital, developing it into a super specialty surgical hospital.

1,000+ surgeries in two years:
Within a span of mere three years the multi-specialty hospital is surging ahead with 1,000 plus surgeries in the first two years and specializes in Urology and other surgical specialties. In the same period, they have also enhanced and updated their OTs’ and ICU apart from launching a wellness centre.

A bright day after a dark night:
Dr. Shaimaa - CEO and Co-Founder, of Integro Hospital signs off by saying-“Keep doing your best and don’t think what others will say. Remember, even God cannot keep everyone happy! Also, if things go wrong, learn to embrace your failures. Sometimes pain teaches you lessons that you didn’t think you needed to know. After all, after every dark night, there is a bright day.”

Paul Mamu becomes part of Dharwad's history

People originally from Dharwad and most of whom migrated decades ago elsewhere across the state, country and world in search of green pastures were in for a sudden shock since late evening on Monday. They all shared similar sentiments, fond moments and profound grief in the passing away of Paul Cardoza of the renowned Hotel PAUL’S at Vidyagiri. He was 69 years old and not at all an age for his generation to bid adieu. Walks to Death: Paul Cardoza was a little bit hefty for his height and age; otherwise there were no visible symptoms to hint of any ailments he had been challenged with. Even on the fateful day, he attended to the chores in the hotel until the afternoon before proceeding to neighbour Hubballi for a cardiac test. It is said that he literally walked to the health check-up facility to undergo the examination. No, he was not destinated for it as he suffered a massive stroke and never to recover! A jovial personality: In the passing away of Paul Cardoza Dharwad has lost one o

He is turning 79 today and looking back there seems to be a huge list of accomplishments worth cherishing on the way. Priest on his own inclination: Dr Godwin Shiri himself voluntarily opted for the priestly vocation of becoming a Pastor at a young age, much against the wishes of his family. The sight of the Cross of Lord Jesus Christ and the scenario of thousands of workers marching holding red flags in his native town Mangaluru had a lasting effect on him as a young boy. Recalling the good old days Godwin Shiri admits-"Perhaps they sowed in me the seeds of compassion and social justice".
