Countdown for Karnataka JDS-INC government begins

The HD Kumaraswamy led Janata Dal Secular-Congress coalition government which had been literally walking on a tight rope ever since it came to power in May 2018 now appears to be on the death bed, thanks to the exit polls indicating a National Democratic Alliance(NDA) government romping back at the Center. In fact the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections in the state according to the pollsters is no good news either to the sworn enemies turned partners for power. It has been projected that the Bharatiya Janata Party, currently the main opposition party is likely to emerge victorious in about 16-23 constituencies out of the total number of 28 seats.

Indian National Congress(INC) is being told to win in 6-8 and the Janata Dal Secular(JDS) in 1-2 seats, and such survey results much before the formal process of counting of votes has rattled both the ruling party leaders.

HD Kumaraswamy, Chief Minister who was scheduled to be in New Delhi to be part of the opposition protest has suddenly cancelled his trip and is said to be weighing pros and cons in the event of the poll surveys becoming true.In the event of a BJP led NDA government assuming office at the center, it goes without saying that the tenure of the JDS-INC government will not only be short lived but will be toppled any time now.

Its not that the saffron party has been keenly watching the performance of the coalition government, but whatever efforts the BJP leaders ventured into only boomeranged evoking peals of laughter among the two ruling party captains.BS Yeddyurappa, former chief minister and state BJP president who was sworn in as the chief minister soon after the elections failed to muster the required strength on the floor of the house and had to tender his resignation, much to the embarrassment of state and national party leaders.

Even after experiencing a humiliating defeat in the state Assembly, the septuagenarian mass leader preferred not to keep quiet and kept on proclaiming to the whole world that the days of the JDS-INC government are over and he'll soon become the chief minister once again. All such utterances made breaking news to local TV channels but hardly made any impact on the status of the two parties government in the state.

At times BS Yeddyurappa repeatedly stumbled over his tall claims as none of his self professed predictions ever came true nor hinted at such possibilities later. But all these instances are now only good to recollect as the present political developments have taken a sea change for an advantageous position to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

On the other hand, Indian National Congress(INC) supposed to be a major partner in the power sharing arrangement has been at the receiving end by the numerically junior partner,JDS.Of late the Janata Dal Secular(JDS) leaders including H Vishwanath, state JDS president have been attacking the Congress leaders in public. Their anger is more targeted against Siddaramaiah, former Congress chief minister and convener of coalition parties committee.

Siddaramaiah, has been adding more fuel to the fire by repeatedly claiming to become the state chief minister again. Its not only Siddaramaiah who's into such practice as there are any number of his MLA followers who time and again continue to echo such a demand in public.Hence H Vishwanath's public diatribe cannot be his own outbursts without the backing of HD Devegowda, the party supremo and former prime minister and HD Kumaraswamy, chief minister.
The Congress ministers and leaders in private confess to the 'intolerable' mess they have been driven into by the junior power partner. So either way the state government is bound to fall irrespective of the BJP poaching the Congress legislators nor they themselves fleeing from the sinking ship.

They all shared similar sentiments, fond moments and profound grief in the passing away of Paul Cardoza of the renowned Hotel PAUL’S at Vidyagiri. He was 69 years old and not at all an age for his generation to bid adieu. Walks to Death: Paul Cardoza was a little bit hefty for his height and age; otherwise there were no visible symptoms to hint of any ailments he had been challenged with. Even on the fateful day, he attended to the chores in the hotel until the afternoon before proceeding to neighbour Hubballi for a cardiac test. It is said that he literally walked to the health check-up facility to undergo the examination. No, he was not destinated for it as he suffered a massive stroke and never to recover! A jovial personality: In the passing away of Paul Cardoza Dharwad has lost one o
