JDS-Congress government:Six months of confusion and chaos

The HD Kumaraswamy led Janata Dal Secular-Congress alliance state government has managed to complete six months in office with enough dosage of hardships all along the way and most of the major promises unfulfilled.

As a token of gratitude to the people of Mandya district the Chief Minister launched developmental projects to the tune of Rs 718 crores at Melukote, the historic vaishnavaite pilgrimage centre. The huge quantum of monetary assistance to any single district is the highest so far after the sworn enemies turned close friends assumed office on this day six months back.

It may be recalled here that the ruling Janata Dal Secular party triumphed in Mandya district bagging all the eight Assembly constituencies in the May 2018 general elections. The party also retained the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency in the recently held bye elections.

HD Kumaraswamy had embarrassing moments today as a farmer belonging to Mandya district committed suicide much before he landed by a chopper. The farmer was a cancer patient and had spent around 25 lakhs for the treatment in vain.

Elsewhere across the state one more farmer of Kalaburagi district ended his life.In both the incidents, before venturing into the extreme step both the victims have left suicide notes addressing the chief minister himself. So these developments provided enough stuff for the local TV channels to project them as 'suicidal deaths welcome the CM'!

Farmers loan waiver continues to remain a vexed issue as the election manifesto is yet to honoured in the real sense but for hollow claims through newspaper advertisements of having accomplished it.

Thanks to many a claimant in the Congress the much sought after cabinet expansion is yet to take place and appointments to the nearly 70+ Boards and Corporations is also being desperately awaited by the party legislators and workers.

The only solace both the partners can continue to boast of are the electoral victories after coming to power. In the five bye elections that took place to three Lok Sabha and two Assembly constituencies JDS,Congress and BJP won in one constituency while the two Assembly constituencies were shared among the Congress and JDS.

In fact these bye elections not only proved to be a testing ground for the alliance partners of taking the Bharatiya Janata Party head on jointly but also humbling the saffron party in its so called bastions so far.The outcome of these poll results have also become a major worrisome factor to the major opposition party in the ensuing Parliamentary elections during 2019.

Six months of survival by itself is a big success of this government, blasted BS Yeddyurappa, former chief minister and state BJP president. He further alleged:If this government had done anything worth mentioning, why are farmers committing suicide everyday in the state?

The CM claims himself to be a circumstantial baby and it goes without saying that such a child has any direction or goal to achieve. He spends half of his time in visiting temples and the remaining half in residing at star hotels.Every now and then he keeps claiming of throwing away the resignation papers which is nothing else but insulting the people in a democratic set up,claimed BS Yeddyurappa.

They all shared similar sentiments, fond moments and profound grief in the passing away of Paul Cardoza of the renowned Hotel PAUL’S at Vidyagiri. He was 69 years old and not at all an age for his generation to bid adieu. Walks to Death: Paul Cardoza was a little bit hefty for his height and age; otherwise there were no visible symptoms to hint of any ailments he had been challenged with. Even on the fateful day, he attended to the chores in the hotel until the afternoon before proceeding to neighbour Hubballi for a cardiac test. It is said that he literally walked to the health check-up facility to undergo the examination. No, he was not destinated for it as he suffered a massive stroke and never to recover! A jovial personality: In the passing away of Paul Cardoza Dharwad has lost one o
