Niranjan Mukundan has finished off the Norwegian Swimming Championships aka Bergen Swim Festival 2024 with 4 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronze (a couple of seasons' best times and PBs) Niranjan is currently in Bergen, Norway taking part in the Norwegian Swimming Championships aka Bergen Swim Festival 2024 and won 4 golds, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. This competition had around 800+ swimmers from 12 countries competing to be the best. Here are his accomplishments in the Norwegian Swimming Championships aka Bergen Swim Festival 2024 : 1. Niranjan Mukundan has created a new history by becoming the first Indian Paralympian sportsperson to join the 100 medal club by winning 100 international medals representing the country. By doing so he also holds the unique distinction of becoming the first and only Indian Para Swimmer to harvest 100 medals at the international level tournaments. Presently in Reykjavik, Iceland: Niranjan Mukundan is presently taking part in the Reykjavik International Games 2024. The sports meet is also termed as Iceland Championships. It is a multi-sporting annual international competition wherein 12+ countries participate in a variety of events. Niranjan Mukundan continues to surge ahead with medal hunt at international events and this time around he has bagged four Gold and two Silver medals at the recently concluded Para Swimming World Series 2023, held in Berlin. Niranjan Mukundan B Qualification time for Paris Paralympics 2024: Thanks to such accomplishments, he has succeeded in the “B” Qualification time for Paris Paralympics 2024. Interestingly what has been mentioned is neither fiction nor exaggeration of sorts but a plain fact that turns out to be too difficult to grapple with. This is the true story of Niranjan Mukundan, who has such amazing accomplishments to his credit. Born with Spina Bifida: Niranjan Mukundan had spina bifida and clubbed feet at the time of birth. Spina Bifida is a congenital defect of the spine. As part of the spinal cord and its meninges are exposed through a gap in the backbone the condition is prone to frequent paralysis of the lower limbs. Meninges are the three membranes namely the dura mater, arachnoid, and pia mater that line the skull and vertebral canal and enclose the brain and spinal cord. 19 surgeries!
