Niranjan Mukundan has created a new history by becoming the first Indian Paralympian sportsperson to join the 100 medal club by winning 100 international medals representing the country. By doing so he also holds the unique distinction of becoming the first and only Indian Para Swimmer to harvest 100 medals at the international level tournaments. Presently in Reykjavik, Iceland: Niranjan Mukundan is presently taking part in the Reykjavik International Games 2024. The sports meet is also termed as Iceland Championships. It is a multi-sporting annual international competition wherein 12+ countries participate in a variety of events. Both won multiple medals: In the swimming category, the two swimmers Niranjan Mukundan and Shams Alam took part.
