KR Rameshkumar, speaker ruled out that he had come to the conclusion as per the provisions of the constitution in such matters and taking into cognizance of judgements on earlier occasions. He also quoted the stance taken by Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President and Presiding Officer of the Rajya Sabha when a petition came before him for the disqualification of Sharad Yadav of the Janata Dal(United)[JD-U].

He also gave a detailed explanation before concluding and informed: I have also taken into consideration the ruling of Tamil Nadu Speaker when a petition was pending before him for disqualification of several MLAs'.The speaker also told that he has gone through the apex court ruling in the episode involving Ravi B Naik, MLA of Goa Assembly. He repeatedly reiterated that his office received petitions and reminders from Siddaramaiah, Congress legislature party leader, Dinesh Gundurao, president of the state Congress committee and HD Kumaraswamy, former chief minister in connection with the recommendation for disqualification of party legislators.

AH Vishwanath, former Janata Dal-Secular president and Hunasuru JD-S MLA, presently camping in Mumbai with other dissident MLAs' regretted the ruling over their disqualification: The speaker's ruling is lopsided taking only the viewpoint of party leaders and giving no credence to the resignation letter and individual submissions made in presence to him.He also maintained: The speaker has never bothered to take the reasons responsible for the resignations in such huge numbers nor has made any mention about the resignation letters before going to the extreme step of disqualification.

All the MLAs' have resigned not for monetary gains or with the sole intention of green pastures in public life. But for me and a handful of others, all others are worth 500, 1,000 and 2,000 crores on record. But the speaker has not dealt with the genuineness of the resignations, lamented AH Vishwanath.Prathapgouda Patil, Maski Congress MLA confirmed: We are sad at the outcome of the turn of events and will decide soon upon contesting the ruling in the Supreme Court.

People originally from Dharwad and most of whom migrated decades ago elsewhere across the state, country and world in search of green pastures were in for a sudden shock since late evening on Monday. They all shared similar sentiments, fond moments and profound grief in the passing away of Paul Cardoza of the renowned Hotel PAUL’S at Vidyagiri. He was 69 years old and not at all an age for his generation to bid adieu. Walks to Death: Paul Cardoza was a little bit hefty for his height and age; otherwise there were no visible symptoms to hint of any ailments he had been challenged with. Even on the fateful day, he attended to the chores in the hotel until the afternoon before proceeding to neighbour Hubballi for a cardiac test. It is said that he literally walked to the health check-up facility to undergo the examination. No, he was not destinated for it as he suffered a massive stroke and never to recover! A jovial personality: In the passing away of Paul Cardoza Dharwad has lost one o
