Dr. Parimala Jaggesh shows a way to bid adieu to Diabetes

AlaMirap Nutrition is a Bengaluru-based nutritional company and according to founder and CEO Dr. Parimala Jaggesh, AlaMirap is amongst the pioneer companies in the world providing nutritional counseling based on your Blood Glucose Levels exclusively - G.L.A.M. diet - a copyrighted diet process. And if you ask what is AlaMirap, it's Dr. Parimala’s name in the reverse direction! The core belief in the name is anyone, at any age, can start reversing their way back to health and wellness.

Dr. Parimala Jaggesh, an Architect, a homemaker turned Medical Transcriptionist turned Dietician and Nutritionist admits- “These days the term Diabetic Reversal has become commercial. It falsely leads us to believe that every single diabetic can reverse and become a non-diabetic. Of course, lifestyle changes and interventions can assist pre-diabetics and a percentage of type-2 diabetics to reverse their diabetes, but not everyone.

Whereas, the term she would like to use is Diabetic Remission as there are many factors that are involved in optimizing diabetes management. Why did Dr. Parimala Jaggesh become a Nutritionist? You may be wondering why Dr. Parimala Jaggesh - who comes from a background in movies and politics is bothered about being a Dietician, Nutritionist and advising on the reversal of Diabetics.

Your doubts are genuine and so are her reasons for becoming one. The only constant thing in life is uncertainty, and this proved so true in Parimala's life. A casual master checkup that was suggested by her family physician, in the year 1994, was the turning point in her life with regard to health and nutrition. She was diagnosed as a type-2 diabetic at the age of 24!

It was one of life's biggest blows. With no prior family history of diabetes, like anyone else of her age Parimala Jaggesh was shocked to learn about the new health disorder. Moreover, at the time of diagnosis, she was struggling to balance both her career as an Architectural student and being a mother to 2 kids - aged 7 years and 2 years.

Tough times never last but tough people do.
This is Parimala's motto.

She always believes in saying...
Never ask, Why me? Always say, Try Me!

Almost 3 decades ago, she took it up as a challenge to educate herself and understand how to stay healthy and fit. Her burning passion to be a backbone for her children and family and not a burden to them, all culminate to the point today where she is an acclaimed nutritionist, diabetes Educator, health and wellness coach, and Positive Psychology Coach.

We never know what life has in store for us. When Parimala became a Medical Transcriptionist in 1999, she never dreamt that choice in her career would pave the way for her to understand more about the fascinating chapter of human bodies, health, disease, etc.

Being a Transcriptionist, opened up an entirely new world of health and wellness. It brought about an insatiable thirst to better manage her health and to tame the secondary diabetic complications which were killing crores of people worldwide. In search of better treatment and practices, it was a random article in 2012 about diabetes management, caught her attention.

The article mentioned that the latest technology a sensor with CGM technology - continuous glucose monitor helps patients by providing almost 1400 blood Glucose readings that are tracked for over 14 days. Unfortunately, at that time, the sensor was not available in the Indian market. She took it upon herself to keep a hawks-eye on the entry of the sensor into the Indian market.

In early 2017, she chanced upon an article that CGM was available in Bengaluru and that incident completely changed the life of Parimala. Her experimentation, documentation, analysis, research, and understanding of the vast scope of information being given by the CGM completely changed her perspective on diabetes management.

There were a million questions that popped into Parimala's head as she lead an extremely disciplined life every single day. Rain or shine, her typical day would start at 5 am - gym at 6 am - work from 9 am to 5 pm - food that was typically home-cooked, healthy meals, and to bed by 9 am. Every 3 months she would have her lipid profile and HbA1C checked and documented for decades.

In spite of this seemingly healthy routine, a perplexing fact was, in a few months her HbA1C would be in the optimal range, and sometimes it would be all over the place. What were the factors that were contributing to this mayhem in her blood sugars? This was an eternal question, and all thanks to the CGM sensor - she started unraveling the mysterious link between nutrition, stress, sleep, and diabetes management.

Parimala was her own guinea pig: She used the sensor every single day for months and documented every small thing she did. The patterns that slowly started emerging were so startling in revealing how nutrition, stress, moods, and sleep all impact optimal blood Glucose management. From there, she moved on to diabetics in her close family and friends circle and with all the experience and knowledge she had gained, she was able to help every single one, without an exception to better their lives.

Any diabetic out there in the world would agree that often times for the same food, same lifestyle routine they have varied blood Glucose readings. Fascinating fact - if there are 2 Diabetics at home - they eat the same food, same quantity, same timing, yet post 2 hours their postprandial sugar readings will not be identical.

How do you solve this? The discovery and answers to all the questions were provided by the CGM sensor. Simple yet sustainable scientific changes based on the latest in technology and our ancient Indian cooking wisdom were the KEY to diabetes management and remission.

Parimala's mother-in-law died at 54 years due to falling into a diabetic coma. She lost her father-in-law to this dreaded disease, not before he suffered for decades, having both his legs amputated and losing control of his major organs. She personally witnessed her close friend losing kidney function and being on dialysis. All these affected her very deeply.

Parimala was blessed to have seen name, fame, and fortune since she was a baby in a cradle (her father was a very prominent politician) and she realized that the true wealth in this world is that of good health. If your health is lost - all is lost. So she has single-handedly taken upon herself a massive vision of spreading awareness of health and nutrition based completely on your roots of origin.

She does not believe in supplementation or starvation and in quick-fix remedies. She wants to encourage, educate and empower every single client of hers to take care of themselves and their loved ones. Before starting her nutrition company, she was very clear about her target clientele. She wanted to help both rural and urban people and she was very clear her services should be afforded to as many people as possible.

With these parameters in mind, the packages at Alamirap Nutrition completely transform lives starting from Rs.5000 for 30 days and upwards. Their KEY program - an all-time favorite with women across the globe is the ‘Shape up with Parimala’ group program. This is a 30-days family transformation program. One member of the family enrolls, but the content and guidance are provided to everyone.

Entire future generations of children are transforming healthily, which according to Parimala is the best gift she can give back to this beautiful world. She adds-“We started the company in 2017 and it has grown in leaps and bounds over a period of time all thanks to my client's word-of-mouth publicity. We have an astounding success rate of nearly 98% and our precious, happy clients after the successful completion of their programs ensure that they get their family and friends to enroll.

According to Parimala, there can be no greater reward and award that this belief in her and her company. In fact, Kannada people settled all over the world are my clients, while diet patterns keep changing according to the geographical regions”.

Out of Insulin within two weeks: Dr. Parimala Jaggesh becomes jubilant to recall instances of many people who were Diabetics for years and with the combined effort of nutrition from Alamirap and medication titration from their doctors they have come out of the clutches of Insulin within two weeks.

“Proper Diabetic care is very essential as a lethargic attitude endangers vital organs including vision. A regular eye test is very important as the late discovery of any damage to the eyes is irreversible.

Simple sustainable changes: She asserts-“Our continuous studies have revealed that despite being true to the Diabetic food schedule many people have reported high blood sugar. Every diabetic should work on the 4 pillars of diabetes management - nutrition, stress management, physical activity, and medication. Innumerable women and children have benefitted from Parimala's strong social media presence.

Thousands of free videos have been posted with scientific health information. She ensures that every single piece of content is in both the native Kannada language alongside English to ensure that every single person can benefit from this scientific guidance.

Amongst her numerous projects for society - Her favorite ones are where more than 1000 women were hand-held and guided free for one entire month under the aegis of Bengaluru Women Power organization for a healthy transformation.

A chance meeting with Shri Shri Ravi Shankar GuruJi leads to diabetic studies in Art of Living Kanakpura. Numerous villages and villagers, know what a CGM is and how to better control their diabetics through the free camps organized by AlaMirap Nutrition company.

Parimala is extremely humbled and honored to share that recently a two-arm study with CGM sensors where the impact of AlaMirap copyrighted GLAM diet nutrition changes brought about good control in 3 months in different parameters like lipid profile, diabetes management, and hypertension management has been published in an International Journal.

He was 69 years old and not at all an age for his generation to bid adieu. Walks to Death: Paul Cardoza was a little bit hefty for his height and age; otherwise there were no visible symptoms to hint of any ailments he had been challenged with. Even on the fateful day, he attended to the chores in the hotel until the afternoon before proceeding to neighbour Hubballi for a cardiac test. It is said that he literally walked to the health check-up facility to undergo the examination. No, he was not destinated for it as he suffered a massive stroke and never to recover! A jovial personality: In the passing away of Paul Cardoza Dharwad has lost one o
