Arogya Ratna award to Dr Madhusudan KR

Dr Madhusudan KR, renowned holistic healer of the International Reiki Foundation in the city was bestowed the 'Arogya Ratna' award at the recently concluded two days international workshop on alternative medicine.

The prestigious award was presented to Dr Madhusudan KR at the second World Congress on Traditional Medicine conducted by the Indian Holistic Medical Research Foundation by the Vice Chancellor of the Kazakhstan university.

The international conference was attended by holistic experts from across the world and the award was in recognition of attending the two days special workshop. It was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

The Indian Holistic Medical Research Foundation has been registered with the Government of Telangana in Hyderabad and accredited by the International Accreditation Organization under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India and certified by the British Council of Complementary Therapies.

Recalling his participation in the two days workshop, Dr Madhusudan KR informed: Many subjects were discussed like advanced acupuncture, advanced acupressure and various other holistic treatments at length. Many international experts also presented their papers, who had from Canada, Switzerland etc and in a way, it was really an eyeopener.

Talking about the overall deliberations and the positive impact they made upon the participants, Dr Madhusudan KR said: The consensus was that a representation is made to the Government that more and more efforts are made to popularize the holistic form of medications. And as you know, there are no adverse effects and most of these practices, a person can learn by himself. You can also avoid 80 per cent of the naturally causing ailments without going to the doctors. As they always keep saying, prevention is better than cure.

He also hoped that by adopting alternative forms of holistic medications people can save a huge amount on their annual medical bills and hence the role of the government is quite vital in this regard.

Regarding the positive response of the government to the workshop, Dr Madhusudan KR was optimistic enough to claim that Dr K Sudhakar, Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education not only participated in the conference but also delivered a keynote address. He was candid enough to declare that his government would do whatever was necessary in giving a boost to alternative forms of healing with traditional methods. Such words from a medical graduate himself were quite encouraging. He also assured of doing whatever is beneficial for the people at large.

He also signed off by proclaiming that holistic medicinal practitioners have a huge role to play in the near future.

They all shared similar sentiments, fond moments and profound grief in the passing away of Paul Cardoza of the renowned Hotel PAUL’S at Vidyagiri. He was 69 years old and not at all an age for his generation to bid adieu. Walks to Death: Paul Cardoza was a little bit hefty for his height and age; otherwise there were no visible symptoms to hint of any ailments he had been challenged with. Even on the fateful day, he attended to the chores in the hotel until the afternoon before proceeding to neighbour Hubballi for a cardiac test. It is said that he literally walked to the health check-up facility to undergo the examination. No, he was not destinated for it as he suffered a massive stroke and never to recover! A jovial personality: In the passing away of Paul Cardoza Dharwad has lost one o
