In fact, the distinction of being the first state in the whole of the country in rising to the occasion by waking up with stern measures to combat the fatal virus infections also deservedly goes to the same Kerala state which boasts of many other accomplishments in other spheres of life.

The whole state has been divided into four zones depending upon the proportion of Corona infections. These zones have been classified as Red, Orange-A, Orange-B and Green.
Among these, a partial withdrawal of lockdown has been announced in Orange-B and Green zones. Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode and Mallapuram districts come under Red zone where all the entry and exit points have been restricted only at two places.
In all these districts a provision has been made for supply of essential goods while the lockdown shall continue to prevail until 03 May on par with the rest of the country.

Pathanamthitta, Kollam and Ernakulam districts come under Orange-A zone and lockdown measures shall prevail until 24 April and partial lockdown will be enforced later.
Alappuzha, Thrissur, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram and Wayanadu come under the purview of Orange-B zone wherein lockdown is being lifted in all these districts from tomorrow itself.
Kottayam and Idukki districts form the Green zone wherein lockdown measures are slated to be withdrawn totally from tomorrow.
Kasargod role model to the country
Kasargod on the Northern tip of the state adjoining Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka has emerged out to be a role model district to the nation in successfully keeping the killer disease under check.

Initially, Kasargod reported 168 cases, however, 117 people have recovered and no fatalities so far. The Union Health and Family Welfare Department has showered praises to the state government, health department and the district administration for achieving this challenging feat.
In order to ensure that the pandemic doesn’t spread the district administration initiated several measures. A special hospital came into being only to treat Corona virus infected patients.

Laboratories, Quarantine facilities were provided thus letting no loose element in the way of combating the deadly virus. About 68.45 percentage of people have been cured of the virus infection.
Apart from the gradual recovery among the admitted persons, no new case has been reported nor has there been any casualty so far in the district thus making the central health department proud of Kasargod district.

Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary in the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry has patted the Kasargod district administration for evolving itself into a role model to the whole country in leading the battle against Corona menace.

It is said that he literally walked to the health check-up facility to undergo the examination. No, he was not destinated for it as he suffered a massive stroke and never to recover! A jovial personality: In the passing away of Paul Cardoza Dharwad has lost one o
