DKShi issue becomes a weapon for INC-JDS to hammer BJP

Massive protest rally by the Vokkaliga organisations in association with Janata Dal-Secular(JD-S), Indian National Congress(INC) and several pro-Kannada organizations to protest against the arrest of DK Shivakumar, Man Friday of the Congress party emerged to be a big success considering the huge turnout.

The event also transformed into a platform for everyone present to hurl all sorts of abuses against the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) led National Democratic Alliance(NDA) government in the centre in general and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amith Shah in particular. All along the 5.2 kilometres route of the 'Raj Bhavan Chalo' from the National College grounds in Basavanagudi to the Freedom Park near Anandrao Circle the protesters raised slogans against the Union Government, PM and the Home Minister.

The speakers appeared to be more interested in making sweeping remarks against the BJP governments in the state and Centre by accusing both of them indulging in political vendetta against political opponents.By and large, the protest rally was peaceful but for some minor incidents of pelting stones at Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation(BMTC) buses. No major incidents of violence have been reported so far. The organizers estimated that around 40,000 people took part in  rally but according to police the number was about 25,000.

However, traffic in 13 main routes was affected in a big way thus derailing the normal life in spite of about 6,000 policemen deployed for security purposes. The commuters had an uneasy calm in undergoing the traffic situation. But what appeared perplexing was the way the whole issue was projected as an onslaught on a particular community forgetting all the pitfalls of the tainted politician and his failure to adhere to the rules and regulations of the country.

The speakers spit venum against the Union BJP government blaming it squarely for the suicide of VG Siddarth, CMD of Cafe Coffee Day and also drew apprehensions about possibilities of HD Kumaraswamy, former chief minister being made a victim sooner or later.

Although most of the Congress leaders turned up to the venue of the protest rally, HD Kumaraswamy, JD-S leader and HD Devegowda, patriarch of the JD-S stayed away from the venue.
HD Kumaraswamy reacted in Channapatna to media persons that he was not invited nor informed about protest rally in Bengaluru. Had it been so there was no way of skipping it and all this has happened due to the lapse on the part of the organizers, he commented.

Wrong to drag the community: BN Bachhegowda, Chikkaballapur Bharatiya Janata Party Lok Sabha Member and Vokkaliga leader derided the way the DKS issue has become a tool to drag the community.
The Union Government is not indulging into any witch hunting tactics as being made out of by the opposition party leaders. Whatever blunder one does will also have to pay a price for the same, claimed BN Bachhegowda. He also asserted:Rally is only a Congress party rally and it was a wrong move on the part of the Vokkaliga community to participate in it. Things like caste and community should not be dragged into such issues...

He was 69 years old and not at all an age for his generation to bid adieu. Walks to Death: Paul Cardoza was a little bit hefty for his height and age; otherwise there were no visible symptoms to hint of any ailments he had been challenged with. Even on the fateful day, he attended to the chores in the hotel until the afternoon before proceeding to neighbour Hubballi for a cardiac test. It is said that he literally walked to the health check-up facility to undergo the examination. No, he was not destinated for it as he suffered a massive stroke and never to recover! A jovial personality: In the passing away of Paul Cardoza Dharwad has lost one o
