Candidate managing to garner more sympathy likely winner in Jamkhandi Assembly constituency!

Jamkhandi Assembly constituency in Bagalkote district coming under the purview of Mumbai Karnataka region is again gearing up for the bye polls scheduled on coming 3 November. The elections are necessitated following the untimely tragic demise of Siddu Bhimappa Nyamgouda, sitting Congress MLA.

Anand Nyamgouda, son of late Siddu Nyamagouda is now the Congress candidate and it goes without saying that the party wants to capitalize the sympathy factor arising out of the accidental death of the legislator. The deceased MLA's son is no novice to politics as it has been him behind the scenes nursing the constituency on behalf of his father.
Late Siddu Nyamagouda, apart from his party affiliations was well respected by the people and more so among the farming community. It goes to his credit of building the Shrama Bindu Sagar, popularly known as the Chikkapadasalgi barrage across river Krishna in Jamkhandi taluk without any governmental support
.
This popularity took him to such heights that he defeated Ramakrishna Hegade, former chief minister and Janata Party leader in Bagalkote Lok Sabha constituency and rose to become a minister in the cabinet of PV Narasimha Rao in the centre.

Shrikanth Subbarao Kulkarni, one time BJP MLA is once again the party candidate in fray.He was elected as the BJP MLA during 2008 Assembly elections. However he subsequently lost the next two elections during 2013 and May 2018.So he hopes on the sympathy factor arising out of his unsuccessful contests in a row.

Sangmesh Nirani, who had thrown upon a challenge to the official BJP candidate by contesting as a rebel BJP candidate and managing 24,461 votes(15.96 percentage) in the previous elections is back into the party as the state party president has revoked his expulsion.

So if at all the electorate of Jamkhandi known for its vast sugarcane belts and many a sugar mill wish to have some mercy for the continuously losing gentleman, then there shouldn't be much worry about him sailing across the shores of victory.
But if you ponder over whether its all that simple then the response is bound not to be affirmative. Its no better choice left to Anand Nyamgouda of the Congress either. In fact it's only his father's good name, contribution to the constituency and road accident death on which he has been heavily banking upon to score a maiden victory.

So either way its only the sympathy wave both the rival candidates are heavily dependent upon. For all practical purposes both the parties are for name sake in terms of public consumption as the two rival candidates boast of a clean public image as of now.

Another advantage to the BJP candidate is that Basagond Shivagond Sindhur, who had polled 10,326 votes(7.84 percentage) as a Janata Dal Secular candidate during 2013 elections is now with the BJP.In fact he tried in vain to raise a banner of revolt for having been denied the party ticket to contest. But the party leaders succeeded in prevailing upon him.
So as being oft hinted before lady luck continues to oscillate between both the two main rival candidates for a variety of reasons but ultimately whoever manages to succeed in mastering the sympathy proportion is sure to emerge a victor!

Paul Mamu becomes part of Dharwad's history

They all shared similar sentiments, fond moments and profound grief in the passing away of Paul Cardoza of the renowned Hotel PAUL’S at Vidyagiri. He was 69 years old and not at all an age for his generation to bid adieu. Walks to Death: Paul Cardoza was a little bit hefty for his height and age; otherwise there were no visible symptoms to hint of any ailments he had been challenged with. Even on the fateful day, he attended to the chores in the hotel until the afternoon before proceeding to neighbour Hubballi for a cardiac test. It is said that he literally walked to the health check-up facility to undergo the examination. No, he was not destinated for it as he suffered a massive stroke and never to recover! A jovial personality: In the passing away of Paul Cardoza Dharwad has lost one o
